ok get this, brand new and in crate LQ9 with comp and harness and a nv4500 trans also brand new straight from gm for 4 grand. now i know the trans won't fit in my 67 nova that the motor will be going into but i could easilly sell that for a grand and have a brand new engine, comp and harness for 3 grand. thats got to be a great deal but i was just wondering what the true value would be. the guy who has it isn't short on money and just wants to get rid of it.

Three grand sounds on the high side of reasonable. Still pretty reasonable though. If I were you, I'd find one used for alot cheaper. But idk, kinda can't argue with brand new. Depends on what you want I guess.

yeah i hear you, the more i search around the more i see that it's not that great of a deal but a fair one. for around 1500 i found some with around 60,000 miles out of wrecks. i think ill sit on it for a few days.

I dont know honestly man. Brand new is awesome when dealing with motors. What would that cost if you were to buy it from the dealership?

i think the guy paid around 6 or 7kfor the motor harness etc... but that was when the motor was still in production for the 06 escalade.

But at the same time if you go on turnkeyengines.com the LQ9 goes for 7,000 with only 40 more hp and a fuel pump kit then the motor in question. also i already got burnt buying a ls1 that ended up having a cracked deck so i'm not looking to buy another used piece.

i just bought a new LQ9 long block only from SDPC for $2600 so if you can use all the other stuff the price seems reasonable. if you can't use the other stuff then i would try to find a deal on just the motor
