or how bout you save the money and do it yourself. really, its not that hard . just some hand tools, jack/jackstands, and some patience are needed. i dont see the point of paying someone to install your bolt ons. heads and cam i can understand but with bolt ons your just giving your money away.

I got a quote from Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge the other day for $350.00. Kind of pricey compared to the others listed.

I would suggest doing it yourself, this is the only sure way to know that your stuff gets installed right, but if you decide to get it installed in a shop I would think somewere in between 200-400 bucks.Good Luck

$200-$400 is an understatement. I've never taken my car to ThunderRacing or Rapid Motor Sports or Speed Inc. but in "the book", changing out headers is considered to be an eight hour plus job. Garages generally charge a $66-80 flat rate per hour, so if you do the math, you'll be paying at least $528--without tax. It's very expensive to have done in a garage and more than likely, you'll be tying up their resources. Expect to have it back in two to three days, depending on how many mechanics they have "committed" to it. $200-400 sounds more like having a garage install a cat-back.

8 hours? Didn't even take me 8 hours to do it myself, and I had no prior experience. The local performance shop here charges $300 for a header install, and Mineke charged me $130 to swap out my cat-back.

A cat back install is a lot easier than installing headers. Rapid Motorsports installed my headers in 2 hours. Mikey is the LS1 Guru in NE PA. He can do a cam in 2-3 hours.

You down with that Chris??

LT1, love the sig.

Why would anyone pay for a catback install?
I guess if you got the money, why not!
****, i woulda done that for pizza, beer, and monday night football.
Still, for someone new and wanting the satisfaction of DIY, get your hands dirty. Down the road, the experience agained will be worth it, and you'll have that much more appreciation for your car.
Just my .02

I paid for my catback installation because they have a welder and I like to have my stuff welded together, It's just a preference.

It is so freaking easy. While you're at it, just toss the emisions in the trash.
Save your money and get a little dirty.

That I can understand. The wording got me on that one. You said swap out, not weld. It's all clear now.

I got quoted 130$ to install a cat back and weld on some 24"X3.5" tips. And they are providing the tips. They also said under $200 to install LT's and Y-pipe.
