Just make sure you get the fire retardant heat boots for your spark plug wires, my wires burned on the driver side and I had only mid-lengths.

I just got done installing Pacesetter Long Tube Headers and the Texas Speed Catted Y-pipe. I have to say the pacesetters looked 10 x better than I thought they would. I got them coated and they look very nice. Just got done last night with the y-pipe. The complete set up looks very impressive and it sounds great too. I would highly recommend them.

The set up was pace setter headers, catted y, spark plugs, plug and play 02 extensions, and shipping came out to $798 and I had to drive to summit and buy heat sheilding tubing to put over the spark plug wires that was $25 so $823.

ive never heard of plug wires melting from headers. is that common? does the heat shielding just slip over the plug wires??

and what does a ceramic coating do?

Hey,
New on the site, doing an LS1 swap into my 88 Camaro.

I bought a complete 01 Z28 donor car and the previous owner installed brand new Bassani ceramic shortys and y-pipe/cats, and a Magnaflow SS catback. The Magnaflow will work but I was going to try to make the Bassani system work for my swap but now seeing the negative feedback of shorty's I'm debating running the stock manifolds untill I can get the Hawks SS LT's.

Any comments/ideas/feedback on the Bassani systems? Having hard time finding anything but the manufacturer's site for info, but they are run on alot of Vette's so I'm not sure what to think...

Thanks, Art

yeah mine did- two on the drivers side -1 nearly in half, ceramic coating -reduces under hood temp & holds in heat which creates better exhaust scavenging during combustion process A BIG PLUS! They also look really awesome in the engine bay-IMO -Maybe using a coated finish header u wouldn't need the wire boots

I bought my coated Pacesetters about a year ago and paid $380 shipped through one of the sponsors here. I forget who. The headers are built beautifully and fit great. My Y-pipe bangs, but I blame that on my own installation. If yours ends up doing the same, just go back and adjust it. Truth be told, Pacesetter's coating isn't excellent and will start to brown on the collectors after awhile. Up top and all the way down the sides, however, they look awesome. Clearance ins't a big issue, but you should avoid sewers and stuff if you're slammed to the ground. I ran the Corvette o2 sensors with mine. They can be had pretty cheap on Amazon.com if you want brand new o2s instead of getting plug-in extensions.

For what it's worth, I ran 13.4s before bolting them on.

I have a stock 2000 camaro z28 A4.
I hear alot of run pacesetter LTs. So Im going with that. but then Again, Im havind trouble deciding whether to put on a ORY, or X pipe. My dream setup is to have Pacesetter LTs, with high flow cats since im in cali, and duals, flowmaster chamber 1. Any advice.

I would suggest LPP headers....they are stainless and have great fit. No notching the subframe for me here. I had Pacesetter shorty headers before these and I regret it. I waisted money. They were coated and after a year or so the coating went to crap and had rusty spots on them. Not to mention that the install was much easier on the LTs

glad you chose LTs. ditch the pacesetter Y and go true duals. more power, infinitely better sounding from the X.

why not just go straight pipes to the rear? instead of h or x pipes?

Also, will any ls1 header fit any other series? like lq9 lt1 lq4 etc etc.

or do you need to specifically search for those?
