Ok guys not to break anyones bubble, but, my grandfather used to haul fuel for a while and I went with him a few times. We stopped and loaded up from one tank and went to a bunch of different gas stations, almost all of which you have all mentioned. It all came from the same tank, no special mixtures or magical formulas in any of them, they were all the same. I don't know if MN is just different from the rest of the free world but I doubt it.

Umm..that's not correct. My Dad also haul'd fuel for a while and I worked at various refineries in/around Philadelphia for a year. While the base product is the same, when the driver punches in the code for what company he's going to be filling the tank up for, that automatically has their additives and such to be added to the base product.
Not all gas is the same. Stay with shell, texaco, sunoco, exxon, mobile and you should fine. Citco and all the others just suck and I will not trust them with my car...especially not with a blower.

Thats correct and what I have been stating. Only bad thing I have ever heard is that there was a Shell station buy my house, and about a year ago they got busted for selling what people thought where 93 octance and it was only like 89 as tested by the state. Thank god I never went there.

i wonder....
is there a hand held tester we can buy to test gas our self you know like a hydrometer for coolant???
i think i will be doing a search... i have also been told that goof ups here and there have left 97+octane in the 87 pump... and visa versa... now i am interrested...

Amoco Gold 93 octane is the ONLY thing that goes in my baby! I personally believe that you should only use the 93, regardless of the manufacturers claim that lower octanes are fine. Even the POS 93 Ford Festiva (hey, it keeps the Z-28 free for weekends, clean and bad!) gets the 93 treatment. Besides, have always used Amoco 93 octane in past cars.....95 Impala SS, 88 Formula Firebird, and 82 Z-28 Indy Pace Car edition. It's your money and your car, use what you feel is the best. (Never let your wife force you to get rid of cars. It sucks, and she will soon be the ex!)

I agree Dave. Out of all the high quality gasolines, the premium 93 or 94 has more detergents than their own 89 or 87. Your Feistva is cleaner on the inside than if your using an 87. I bet that if you ran high quality 87 the inside would still look cleaner than low quality 93 from some off the wall dump.

I'd avoid the "V-power" stuff. Maybe what you're
talking about is different but the V-power tankful
I got in Melbourne had a pump sticker saying
oxygenated and it made noticeably less power for
me. I believe it's a formulation meant to lean out
older cars because my fuel trims also drifted north
by a fair bit (until I burned down that tank and
went back to BP/Amoco). A big thumbs down on
the V-"power" here.
Shell refinery over in Tampa managed to hose a
whole bunch of peoples' cars last Memorial Day,
I think it was, by putting out a batch of high
sulfur fuel. Fuel level senders galore, replaced.
Texaco and Shell stations.
Think what you like about brand integrity, but
the label on the truck doesn't guarantee much
of anything. Though a lot of people seem to like
Mobil/Exxon, and BP/Amoco and Chevron for the
"solid pipeline". I've never had bad gas from the
7-11/Citgo or Hess chains though this could be
simply luck of the draw. I do not buy gas at any
"Mom-and-Pop" if I can make it to a chain pump.

for some reason my mpg has taken a drop recently, all i use is the shell v-power stuff, or exxon if need be. think maybe the station got a bad batch or it's just now affecting my fuel trims? o well
