Just had my 4.10's installed. I have 275/40/R17 and the 4.10's. My speedo reads 60 when im really going 50. Its off by a percentage.

im guessing he has 3.42's which is what i had so his tire size would matter. my previous tire size was 245/50/R16 if that helps.

You never got that tuned or calibrated? Your car will read 60k miles when you really only have 50-55k miles on the clock in no time at all. But to each his own.

Being off by a percentage, the faster you go, the further off your speed will read. A tool I use to verify gears when I buy a vehicle can be found at http://www.f-body.org/gears/ ... Very customizable tool to determine what actual speed you would be travelling in each gear at any given RPM. Saves a lot of tedious math.

if you had 3.42's before and you put 4.10's in, then you're speedo will be reading 1.1988 times higher than what you are actually going.

It's a percentage (about 20%), not a fixed amount faster than you are actually going. At 30 your speedo will read 36, at 60 it will read 72 and at 100 it will read 120, etc. Best to just get someone to tune the car so it reads right.
