Default SLP Lid help

Hi All, I have a 98 z28 which was originally built for japan, so on the spec sheet it says the fuel system is japanese spec, I want to get an SLP flopac kit from summit racing, when i select all my car details the slp kit that shows has a pipe coming from the side of the airbox lid, my standard lid doesn't have that, but if i look at the slp lid for a 2000-2002 model is doesnt have the pipe either, anyone know which i should get? thanks

Thats the AIR tubing that goes to the AIR pump in the driver fender. If your car isnt equipped with this, then purchase the lid that doesnt have the hole cut.

If your car doesn't have the tube in the lid, I would get the lid without it from SLP.

Unrelated question: Are you purchasing from Summit Racing in the states, or in the U.K(I wasn't aware that they had a branch there)?

x2. I called SLP about a week ago when I had a question about this. The ONLY difference between the '98-99 SLP lid and '00-02 one is the hole/tube for the air pump. If you purchase the model that's specific for the '98-99 LS1, that'll be what you need ('98-99 is sans airpump hose).

On some websites, the default picture for the SLP lid (even the '98-99 model) is the lid for the '00+ car that has the tube. That might be the case here. :2cents:

Ok thanks, i think i'll get the one without the pipe then, Wonder why mine is different to other 98 models? Think it could make it awkward to get parts in the future if it's got different specs to other 98 models?

Sir Harmony I use Summit racing in the states, everything i buy will have to be in the states, only ever seen a few Camaros here in London, It's easy enough to get things shipped, only problem is the price of shipping, Want to buy ZR-1 Wheels $450 for the wheels, shipping alone is $650 plus Uk customs add a bit more on too

I assume you are talking about this.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SL...6/?image=large
It should come with the correct lid, but the slp flo pac will suck in warm air from about the middle of the radiator. What I would do is buy the lid http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-21044/ and an FTRA from Fast Toys Performance http://fasttoys.net/shop/product_inf...products_id=28 which sucks in cold air from under the car.

No, you'll be fine. Just don't go driving off into the Thames River & get it submerged in water.

When you buy the SLP Lid without the AIR hose attachment, you'll get a rubber plug to install in its place on the side of the lid.
