Default car doesnt feel as strong, help please?!

ok my car does not feel nearly as strong as it should, and as it has been. i over reved the engine one time on a mis shift and im gonna replace my pushrods just incase maybe i bent one. i just dont feel like the power is there. all my stuff is set up in the computer with a custom predator tune and the fuel trims,WOT and timing is all good. might be a little rich up top but ill wait til i can get a wide band to lean it out. only thing i can think of is pushrods, maybe some tuning, and just the cold weather and im not getting the traction i should be getting, but the traction light doesnt come on so i dont know. any other ideas?

Traction light sholdnt come on with the TCS/ASR off, hmmm...if the pushrods don't help maybe you should preform a leak down test on the cylinders, how far did you rev it. Good Luck

The gas around me now contains 10% ethanol which degrades horsepower and gas mileage. They switch back to normal gas in the spring. Damn EPA.

Hey WS6, im not a fan of judging power by SOTP, you should have the beast dynoed...where in NC you at, close to Lexington. Good Luck

yeah it i think it was more after the headers were put in. plugs are brand new, i live in charlotte too. sometimes the car makes a funky noise when its idling dont know if its normal valve train noise or what. i did a top end cleaner too, im gonna try and replace the 02s with my old rear ones and see if that helps out. but they should be good. anything else u guys get from this info? any other opinions?

Did you get any tuning with your headers? If not you could be running really lean at part throttle and pig rich at WOT. Add to that the reduction of back pressure bleeds off some low end torque. The car may feel like a dog when you first put your foot in it, even if it dcreams up top. I fealt a reduction in low end stomp with just my catback. F-Cars already have such high tranny gearing in 1st gear, our low RPM torque dosnt need to get any worse.

My $.02

Yep, headers move the torque curve up. Don't go by SOTP. Get it atap'd and dyno'd.
Have you changed your fuel filter? Sounds minor, but could cause problems. A bad 02 would make the car run REALLY bad. And one over rev probably did not bend any pushrods. If you are worried, take the stock ones out and roll them on a piece of glass. That will tell if any are bent.

yeah i think i had a "lazy" passenger o2 so i slaped one of the old rears in there. works better now... fuel filiter was replaced about 12000 miles ago so im gonna get a new one soon. i checked my fuel trims they are all right on 0% and yeah i had it leaned out a little at WOT. maybe its just that change in the torque curve cause i know at about 4000 at wot in 1st i have to shift cause it wont stick

ok replaced both o2's and i think the driver side was reading richer than it should have been. its weird even with the new one it read 100 mV higher when it was cold, higher than the passenger side. but then once they both got to about 500 they were the same. car feels great now, put both old rear o2s in there. gonna ride like this check the numbers again and then tune it out. thanks guys

It's common to think your car is getting slower. My car feels like a 4cylinder to me.
I find the best way to see is alway's line up with your buddies and see how you do.I have a few friends that are all about the same in the HP department,so it's easy to judge gains.I still leave stock Vette's like they are in reverse...
