Default SLP Cold ram air thing?

Guys SLP sells this stainless steel raim air device. Suppose to pick cool air up from the airflow or something. I was just wondering if anyone has this and 1) what did you have to remove and 2)did you have to drill holes anywhere? did you like it and did it fit well?

you have to cut out a portion of your airbox base and part of your airdam underneath.no big deal.it fit perfectly.you have to drill holes to hold the piece in place that takes in the air if i remember correctly.

most people prefer FTRA or SSRA though i think this part is fine.

I have the "Fast Toys Ram Air", and love it and have no complaints. If you compared the FTRA with the SLP, you will see that the FTRA is longer than SLP's version. Also keep in mind that the Fast Toys is cheaper than that of the "Super Sucker Ram Air" and I think SLP's version as well. Also the Super Sucker is made of plastic versus the stainless steel of the FTRA.
To get any of these to work you will need to do the "free" rain-air mod, which you will find at http://www.installuniversity.com

Good luck to ya.

How exactly do you keep water out of those things...

The Fast Toys comes with a "block-off" plate, that you can put on. All you have to do is pop your air box lid off along with the filter and place your block off plate over the slot where the air comes through. After that you are back to your stock ram air. There have been NO issues with the FTRA sucking in water. The only issue is when you drive your car into a deep puddle (like pass the nose). Then you would definately suck up water and ruin your engine.
I don't know if the Super Sucker has a block off plate or not.

I have the SLP cai and I like it. I have never had any problem with water. Probably why the SLP model doesn't go as far down, may be slightly less efficient, but you will never have to worry about it sucking up water.

Without a doubt the SSRA is the best cold air kit out there. Autotap has shown that the ftra raises operating temps by about 20 degrees. My SSRA angles away from the radiator, unlike the SLP and FTRA. I've looked at my buddies ftra and you can really see how it blocks the radiator.

SLPs kit does not block your radiator.one of the reasons i picked it over the other kits.

i felt the same way at first but what and where you cut and drill is no big deal and not noticeable.at worst the plastic parts are replaceable and where you drill is hidden by your lid.i understand your concern though.

Also if you have a 160 thermo and have your car tuned or prgrammed to have the fan cut on at 160 or whatever degrees, then none of the temp things really matter.

Newbie question. sorry. You guy's are talking about FTRA, which is Fast Toy's Ram Air, i figured that out. Don't WS6's come with Ram Air? or is this totally different from SSRA, and FTRA? Where can you buy these systems from or look at them price wise and such?
