depends on you and what your goals are for the car. how much track use will it see, are you worried about driveability? But as stated I would go with a YANK just need to figure out which one would work best for your car.

ive got a tci 3500...but even with my gearing i wouldve gone with a 3800 or higher stall if i knew what it would feel like before hand...id recommend at least a 3800 depending on what supporting mods you are planning.

I'm mainly posting so I can stay abreast on the follow-up posts to this thread. I'm going to buy a torque converter in the near future, and this is very helpful info to reference.

My car won't be a daily driver by the time I'm ready to install one, so I'll go more aggressive.....

Well, I take this car out on the weekends when I cruise. I take it to the track once in awhile. So I still use it on the street for cruising, now, what would you guys suggest?

A Vig 3200... It stalls up to 3800 but it is a pretty tight converter just driving around town. Here is a pic of my launch with the Vig and Bolt ons...

If you plan on going to upgrade the gears to mabe a 3:73 ratio will that make a difference on a decision of TC? The TC is my next upgrade as well but at the same time i am going to put 3:73' over the stock ratio. (whatever that may be)

It will mainly change your choice of STR. I drove this converter in a car with 3.73's and it felt really good, but really liked to spin easily.

Well, right now, i am running headers and a suncoast ram air + the free mods.(why not) I am planning on 224 cam and a head job done to my stock ones (mostly ported and polishing and new valve upgarade to support the cam). But first, Wanna upgrade the rear end to 3:73's with a TC. Never drivin or ridin in a car with one, so im going by searches and what im reading. What do you guys that have these upgrades suggest about a TC??? OF coarse it will be a daily driver....

The PT is loose for a daily driver, but it can be done. I did it for 6 months.

Well, it could stand for poor tires. The PT series converter will brutally punish regular street tires.
