Octane booster won't help. Try Lucas fuel treatment. I use it ever spring on mine when it take it out of storage.

octane boost does help.....i have a super charger on my yukon, if i run regular 87 octane in it it pings like hell when i get on the gas, put 92 octane gas in it and its fine, also my friend has a 01 mustang and he bought a programmer for it witch makes the engine ping if he dosent put a bottle of octane boost in it every tank of gas, and finally theres my other friend with a 85 camaro with 400ish horsepower and he has to put a bottle of octane evry tank of gas also or it pings like hell. so i would likely just try some octane boost and see

i have heard bad things about certain octane boosters

if you want to raise the octane level, i would add some race gas with 92 octane or spray meth

but if the engine is completely stock it should not "ping" even on 87 octane, unless the gas station that sells you gas is doing something with it

Just use 91 octane.. It's a little bit more expensive but not much.. And it should fix ur pinging problem..

look at the octane boosting ability of those boosters... when used at recommended values, they're usually about "1 octane point". When you read the fine print, that isn't the difference between 89 and 90. It's the difference between 89 and 89.1... does the alcohol content help? yes... but the octane boosting is minimal at best.

Step #1: Put Chevron Techron Fuel Injection Cleaner in your gas tank.

Step #2: Run a can of Seafoam through the brake booster line with the engine running.

Step #3: Fill up with Top-Tier 93 Octane gasoline from a reputable station.

That should eliminate any knock issues.
