It's made of rubber??? Anyway, it's pretty smooth compared to paying $40 for the SLP smooth bellow. I just bought one yesterday. My problem is it's not really long enough to lip around both the MAF and the TB. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just try and jimmy rig it or should I go ahead and buy the longer curved($10) and cut it to fit? Your input is appreciated.

make sure you get the 3x3. Mine fit fine, had to put it in boiling water to stretch it out enough to fit over the TB.

FYI: Its in the plumping section of Home depot should only be like $5

Wow that's really odd. I got mine over the TB just fine without boiling water. Another thing that's really weird is that I pulled up a search over these in this forum and it seems a lot of people have to trim theirs. My problem is it isn't long enough...would heating it up help to stretch it out length ways or is that only to help in aiding you to get it over the TB?

I tried getting it over the TB but i just couldn't muscle it. After i boiled it, it was flexible enough to where it just easily stretched over the TB. I don't think it'll allow you to stretch it length wise, cause after it cooled down it constricted back and its tight as hell now. I haven't had to cut anything or had any other problems. Your's isn't long enough?? wierd... if you could find the 3 1/2 x 3 i think that would be perfect for ya.

The only conclusion I can come to is that I got a Ferco that is slightly different from what others have. I just saw a post where someone posted up a pic and theres looks a little different. At any rate, I think I'll just go with the slightly more expensive one that was designed to fit and is probably a lot lighter to.

I've never heard of anyone's not being long enough. What I did was trimmed and hollowed out the end that goes on the TB. That way it will come on and off easy no matter the outdoor temp. I also trimmed the top half on the MAF end so that my TSP lid would fit perfect.

Microwave is the best way to make it pliable. No need to trim it really. It just makes it look a little better...if it's possible to make sewer hose look good.

What kind of gains are you guys seeing with this mod? I have no problem putting a $6 rubber hose from Home Depot on my $27K car...but is it even worth the effort? I'm guessing that if everything else is completely stock, you wouldn't see or feel much of a gain...but when combined with a LID, a better flowing filter and whatever other induction mods, it will make a difference.

The mod makes little to no difference really. BUT, like you said...combined with intake mods (FTRA, Lid, !MAF, etc) I think it can do nothing but help. Besides, it's great for holding a NX nozzle in place. Here's my old Fernco...
