My MS4 cam. Blew my motor at 20,000 miles. MS4 was in the motor for about 200 miles and a few dyno pulls. Made 425rwhp then POP.
Also that was on the factory stall converter and drove awesome even at a standstill in P/N.

that sucks...........I was just wondering what the cam did to the rest of the motor though, is there issues with the MS4. I was considering one.

They cost outrageous amounts of money and are arguably no better than the stock ones.

Nothing wrong with them, just the fact that they are not a wise purchase for the money.

No issues. Really need an LS6 intake or better i had the FAST92.
MS4 makes no low end its all a mid to high end cam (4200+) and it's not great on the street. I would get a 232 .580 114, it will make a little less power top end but have much better low and through the mid power. From a roll it would take an MS4.

Other than the clear corner lenses which fog up inside and the shorty antenna which gives up a bit of reception... the ported poly MAF ends from my 99 Z28 (which loved them) to my 02 Z28 which absolutely hates them! It would idle like crap and ping at WOT. But the damn mid-range was awesome while running on the ragged edge of being just lean enough.

Everything else has been researched prior to purchase and/or installation.

Paying over double the price of a Magnaflow for a GMMG. I do like my GMMG, but the Magnaflow sounds good too, and at half the price I should of bought that instead.
Also, buying Mecham exhaust tips, the chrome finish flaked off.

If you have ram air, DEBAFFEL your hood as your stock ram air is useless!!

Not buying shocks sooner. Not got konis yet, but I'm sure they will be a huge improvment.

ahh I've never seen this thread. Let me think back to 2003.

Putting a flowcrap muffler on even when I knew it sucked(it was free)

Hypertech programmer(junk, BUT it was great to leave the "power tuning" off but bump shift points so it didnt hit rev limiter on 2-3 shift). If only I had HP Tuners back then

before my first ls1 car, owning all those lt1 cars and thinking the "ls1's not that much faster..."

because of my fathers lazyness i ended up getting a under the axle dual set up with 2.1/2 tubes, its almost stock sounding......while i was in tampa my car in cali i had my dad go iand install my long tubes and duals, after direct insturctions my dad ended telling the exhaust guy t run the tubes under the axle cause he was taking too long, and i guess the guys were like ok, they also did weld the pipes to the heders directly without using ones of the transfers from 3 to 2.5...i guess not so i newbie mistake but a let your dad do stuff for you mistake

actually i have one...

buying cheap sumosucko's! i stopped going to the track because it was absoulutely pointless. no matter how i slip the clutch it's pointless! my bald eagle F1 that came on the car hooked better! matter of fact i think that were the stock tires on the car when i bought her at 51k

the only thing they're good for is long distance driving because they're much harder and don't hug the road. but it's not my DD

should of went with mt et street radials 275/40/17

I have only done one mod and it sucked. I put in a k&n and threw error code p1416 all day. Everyone was looking for air pump and o2 issues and it was k&n oil on the maf sensor hot wire.
