Default 2000 RPM rattle

Ey all, just curious if this is normal, at around 2000-2300 RPM my car starts to shake quite a bit, I'm not sure if it's the engine, or my exhaust just shaking the car, but it's quite a bit... perhaps the TC? I'm not sure.. it does it in all gears, including Neutral. I have 3" cat-back Magna-Flow exhaust.
Any help/advice on the problem would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again guys.

-Garrett
P.S- Is $450 for z06 knock-offs (Chromed) a good deal? With my stock 17" alloys they said I can get all 4 z06's chromed for 450 out the door... Any better places? =/ Thanks.

My Loud Mouth drones and makes the car shake at about the same RPMs. I'm not sure if the Magna Flows acts the same way. How long has the car acted like this and did you install a polyurathane tranny mount when you installed your converter?

I get a slight vibration at about 2000. It used to be much worse with the rubber bumper between my y pipe and floorboard but I took that out and had a spring welded in and now I barely get any vibration at all. Do you have a clamp going to your exhaust or something? The poly mount (if you have one) could be doing it also.

I'd bet money on the exhaust, that's right at rasp RPM, mine did that with straight dumps under the front seats.. As for the rims, I'd buy it if it were me. Laters.

I get that drone too. 450 for the Z06's is a good deal.

--Stock TC. Only mods= Lid and exhaust--

Thx for the feedback, I just bought the car about 2 weeks ago and it had the exhaust install done. Not sure what all the stuff is, but I'll get a vid to show you all jus in case I'm missing something.

Any tips on Fallout? Is the only way to do it clay it, then buff it? Or is there a certain somethin I have to do? Car is white and covered with fallout =/.

Blew my front left Monsoon speaker today, Hopefully it's an easy exchange for new ones from the Audio shop by my house... saw a few posts about "Changing out stock 6 speaker Monsoon's"...

My car has a similar vibration. Not sure what's causing it, my exhaust is all stock. As for the speakers, check out the sticky threads in the Electronics forum. Lots of good info!

the rattle is pretty common. i've got a cutout and have the same rattle at the same rpm area. solution: turn your music up

but first, before you can turn that volume **** up, you're going to have to fix that speaker! this should hook you up, and it's well worth the money!

Wow, holy thread resurrection! My old car never got rid of the vibration which I finally attributed to the torque converter. My current F-body has a Yank TC and doesn't vibrate.

I have heard that you can clock the converter to try and balance the driveline, but never tried it with my last car.

Check all the exhaust mounts and hangers, check the motor mounts and transmission mount. Also get under the car and hit on the exhaust and see if you can get it to rattle and then locate it from there. My 02 sensors rattled at idle and WOT, sounded like BBs in a glass jar.

The original problem of this thread was a vibration, not a rattle. I suppose the car vibrating could have caused some things to rattle as a result, but we were trying to track down what seemed like an engine or transmission imbalance that could be duplicated with the car sitting still. My vibration would shake the entire car, it was pretty bad!
