Long story short my original windshield got a crack, had it replaced, aftermarket one fogs up and wipers work half assed due to what seems to be an oil slick or coating on my windshield. I tried to use news paper + dish soap and the oil slick on my windshield still won't come off, anything else I can do

You could try adhesive remover, that'll usually strip off any coatings.
Or, Zaino makes a glass polish (Z12 I think it is), that stuff will strip anything off glass; paint overspray, hard water/acid rain stains, even removes fine scratches. It's amazing stuff.

Windex has a blue dye built into it. I'd use Invisible Glass by Stoner Products. ![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)

Who was the aftermarket windshield supplier is the question? Maybe they coat their windshields for shipping and protection.

Well, I would certainly hope he's already tried basic glass cleaners. ![Icon Lol](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_lol.gif)
The best one is Dirtex. But for things that normal cleaner can't remove, Z12 is what you want.

Use some Bon Ami polishing cleaner. It won't scratch and will remove any contaminants from the windshield.
