Well here in Hellinois it is $78 up from $48 a few years back.
Then if you got a D plate or heavier vehicle they hit you for a state tax of 33% just enacted by our wonderfull govenor this year.
Some of those trucks pay 1K for plate now another 300+ dollars on top of that.
What can you do about it? Not pay it & have the plates revoked, or not a damn thing & pay it.
The the cops will make you pay.
We all get screwed, nobody got the time to argue about it, & it is going to get worse.
Ya we need more goverment in our lifes.

I think I paid $88 last Nov. It's been going down every year since New. I still miss the old way they charged you by weight of the vehicle. Then I only paid $37

In Ga. you pay a tag fee and advelorium tax, around 322.00 last year for my 02 SS, it does get cheaper every year but damn, of course sales tax is cheaper than most places, you get screwed one way or another.

$55 for two years, $35 for 1. Must have state "safety sticker" (joke) @ each renewal ($12) and a copy of a current "County Personal Property Tax Bill" marked 'Paid'. Personal Property tax on the T/A and the Z71 together was $312 this year.
Not as bad as CA but high for a county whose avg. GROSS income is $15,850! According to MO State Dept of Industrial Relations.

I payed something like $300 last October (and my car is a 98). Supposedly I should be getting a refund (as promised by Arnold).
