so i found out my ss is a z28. help?
so i bought a fake 2002 camaro SS without knowing (thats what i get for not knowing about cars). it doesn't even have the SS badge/ logo on the sides its got some 35th anniversary SS sticker. its got checkered black and white seats with SS on the headrest. and i paided 18k for it. how can i convert it back to a z28? or what should i do.
here is the car
yea i know bad dealer
heres a picture of the history report
it says it has 9 records for this vehicle but i can't see them because i have to buy it. is that bad?
these are the only 2 stickers i found on the door
ive never seen these stickers on a camaro before

i was looking through the paper work there is different papers stating SS and Z28. like the purchase recipe says its a Z28. then theres SLP paper saying CAMARO SS ALTERATION PACKAGE. then i entered the 17 digit vin number in the dmv website and it says its a Z28 with 9 history records.

Listen: All SSs start as Z-28s. They ARE Z28s. Its mostly an appearance package or option, not a car model. Insurance paperwork and title and such will list it as a Z28, as it rightfully should be listed.

id leave it, who cares, if it has ALL the ad ons it doesn't matter who put them on... the real question is do you like it and if so , leave it...just don't sell it later as a SS, sell it as a clone...jmo

Sorry to hear about this.
That's a bad sign. It should have a sticker on the driver's door with a complete list of RPO codes for your build. As others have pointed out, WU8 = SS. If the sticker has been removed, that could point to collision damage (door replaced/repainted) or intentional fraud to represent it as an SS, but remove evidence that it is not.
Here's what the RPO code sticker looks like:

If they told you its an SS and it isnt id take it back and call them out on it, either they take the car back, or pay you a cash difference, or you sue their ***, id be pissed if it in fact isnt an SS and i paid extra for it, 18k is extremely expensive they flat hosed you, clean very low mile SS's are going for about 10k here in idaho.

I have a hard top SS that I ordered. I ordered the paint color Pewter and was surprised that the top was black and they told me that all hard top Z-28's had black tops, that was one way to tell the difference from a 6 cyl.
