Man I swear you guys just keep adding stuff to the pile.

I have called around for the tune and Tiger Lucas does it for less than 400 and they are like 3 minutes away.

I am not locked on the headers and do prefer long tubes. Prefer : Edelbrock. I found some for $300.00 used but I have the gaskets already that have only 700 miles on them.

Oil Pump needs upgrade? OK, that I did not know?
I am running a Manual 6 Speed (stock) Running Royal Purple fluid as of last year. Thats some good stuff.

Gears as in 3.73's? or ????. I just had mine rebuilt for almost $1000 last year because I cracked a tooth. The only thing is it took Slaters Auto Works two times to fix it correctly. It runs well now, no whinning. Been a total of 2500 miles. maybe less.

By the way: Head Hunter: Why is the rear bumper painted black in the middle? Was that a stock look because I see it all the time now. Did that mean something special about the car SLP package?

Yeah I was referring to your gears in the rear end.

A tune is a must - LMR has a great reputation in Houston, never heard of hte guy you mentioned, but it's $400 of your $650 that can't be skipped.

I don't know if the Oil Pump has to be upgraded, but I would definately suggest it.

Since you're a manual you don't have to worry about a stall converter (why I asked)

I guess If you're stuck at $2000, I'd add a tune to your list and talk to TSP about whether a Oil Pump upgrade is required. That should eat up the last $600 or so and you can wait to do the LT's another time.

The "painted black" bumper is called a "CETA mod" - the Collectors Edition T/A's were painted black like that and I think it looks far better than just having it the same color as the rest of the car.

Here is the guy's place I was speaking of : web address.
All he has is Ferrari's, BMW's, Porche's and Lambo's at his place. The guy is a genius when i comes to engines.

http://lucasautocare.com/

I will look for the fuel pump. Who makes it?

I am not set on the 2k but its close. I can go 2500 if need be. So rear end gears where do I get them at??? Who makes them?

This is going to be one awsome car in a few months.

I used my stock one since the cam went in at 30k, so it was a personal choice. But anything beyone 60k miles I would consider a Ported LS6 pump and a LS2 timing chain, very reasonable.

If you already have 3.73's you should be fine - if you're wanting to go to 3.73's, AAM makes a good set that should be whine free.

You also will need some Dowel rods to hold up the lifters, get some aluminum round stock and cut down to size. Lifter trays sometimes hold the lifters and sometime they don't. You should also get a good Pulley Puller.

Do not use the stock or longer then stock crank bolt to try to draw on the pulley.

So I went to pick up the headers and it was a little mistake. They were not Pace Setters at all, they were Hooker Super Comps with a custom welded "Y" pipe. Picked them up for $225.00. I know he didnt need them but I am gonna have to spend some time on cleaning them up.

Does anyone know about VHT paint for painting headers? That seems to be the popular can to go with but has anyone really ever used the stuff????

I wish I could get everyone together that keeps selling me their unwanted parts and show them all what they have helped me build. When its all done.....

New issue, Tearing into my engine and found some issues. First off the hose on theback of the intake is a straight up bitch to get off. When we got in there we found a hose that wasn't connected to anything and a t connection that was broken. Very odd but its all getting fixed now. I also had a cracked vacuum line on the left side but my real probem is this strange sensor in the back. Can anyone tell me what this is or what ist called??

Pic does not work, at least for me. On the intake, the sensor back there is the MAP sensor. I get the LARGE vac line by taking it off the booster and feeding it back. Also the smaller vac lines just pop off easy. The only bitch thing is that when you reinstall, the harness for the MAP is short and needs to be connected first.
