Default What to do first.

I saw a post a few months ago, that listed what you should do to your LS1 first. I think it started with "get a new lid". I still need to find out what a lid is. I'm a newb), then plug, plug wires, etc. Does anyone have a link to that post?

A "LID" is part of the Intake Track, its basically the first thing you see when you open up the hood. Stock unit is made for Noise Requirements, Aftermarket ones like SLP are much better, weighs less, and makes more power.

After reading this, go above and start checking the "Stickies" tons of good info, especially for those starting out.

If limited to money like myself i would do slp lid , slp cat-back exhaust , and maybe a programmer i got a noticeable amount of power from those. Headers, y -pipe, nitrous , and dyno tune are next on my list .

Lid yes, plugs and wires, no. Do not waste your money on aftermarket plugs and wires such as MSD. Only buy these as replacements if your stock ones go bad. The reason for this is that these aftermarket brands advertise less resistance thus more voltage to your spark plugs resulting in hotter burn temps for a more efficient burning of fuel and while it may be true that their wires have less resistance, the spark is created by arching across air which is extremely resistant to electricity. So, the little less resistance in the wire is not much of a help when the voltage still has to move through the air....

No. If you're looking for a tune, dyno tuning via hp tuners or efi live are far superior to any handheld device.
