Default True Duals

I know its been asked but are True Duals better than going with the reg set up a Y-pide into a exhaust system? What are the benefits of true duals (more Hp?) and does anybody else make them besides Texas speed?

True duals are better then y-pipes because you get better exhaust scavenging. We typically look to pick up anywhere between 6-10rwhp over a y-pipe set up with an x-pipe. They also get rid of most exhaust rasp that you get with a y-pipe set up.

I just got rid of my ORY and magnaflow catback for a 3" TSP True duals with dynomax bullets dumped and it sounds so much better. I am glad i got rid of magnaflow. My ground clearance isnt the best, but i need to re adjust it.

Also, i noticed that it seems like i get better throttle response with true duals than i did with a catback. Im loving the sound of duals. It really is not that loud. I was surprised how actually mellow it is at crusing speeds..

At WOT its... Magnaflow..

On my last TA I had LT's that went into magnaflow bullets and then turndowns thay dummped under the middle of the car. The car was also lowered and I had very little problems with ground clearance. Now the Spohn adj torque arm is a completely different story. That SOB seemed to hit everything and was at least 1 - 1 1/2" lower the turndowns!

My TSP duals tuck up MUCH higher than my borla catback did. i need to adjust them a bit because they are banging the floorboard tho...the sound is tho. almost no rasp at all

biggest difference is the lack of rasp with duals. headers+Y pipe will make nasty rasp, I couldnt stand it and tried several changes to decrease rasp (cats, bullet muffler, high flow merge, etc-still there jsut at different rpm windows)

The TSP kit can be made to tuck really well. Flip the fuel line clips and you can damn near get stock clearance in that area. A little less in the drivers floor board area, but still not bad at all.

I'm glad to read this thread. My car is a stock 01 with the exception of a borla catback and ls7 clutch. I've debated on going true duals with the bullets, but hate to take such an expensive exhaust off. The rasp you guys are talking about, is it the straight piped silverado sound haha. This is the car I found on you tube that makes me wanna go that route.

Anyone have pics of there true dual setup? I have thought about doing this but ever shop I go to says that I would need this and that I can't have it done with what is on the car and I haven't done anything to it other than lowering springs.

I love my duals. Don't scrape hardly ever, and the sound at WOT is awesome! Watch the first 18 seconds of this:

I have the TSP True duals and they tuck up nicer than my ypipe setup. I have never scraped over anything and the roads here are not the greatest. My wife's 350z sits lower than our cars along with corvettes and such. Just spend some time on getting the rear jacked up when installing otherwise you will lose ground clearance.

Good luck!
