Yeah not sure how much you are looking to pay for the BBK, but usually you can find a ls6 intake in the classifieds for $300-$350, maybe with a ported TB for $400-$450.

The design of the bbk intake is based off the ls6 intake. Out of a book i have they tested intakes on a gmmp crate engine on an engine dyno. The ls1 made 462 hp with help of a comp xr275hr cam equipped with the 98-00 intake and a accufab 80mm tb .they swapped the ls1 intake for the ls6 intake and had a peak gain 15hp and13ftlbs of tq.Then it went on with the fast 90 unported with the 80mm tb made 20hp peake gain and 18 tq. Then they tested the ls1 intake with the stock tb vs the bbk with 85mm tb and showed a peak improvement of 27hp ..
I have a 2002 z28 and with this known i decided to just get a nice 80 mm tb for my ls6 and save up later for a fast 102 or a really good deal on a 92 setup and have it ported only way to go this book was made in 06 so there were no tests on the 92 or 102 fast intakes hope this helps you out.

That i do not know most people have been getting there stock throttle bodys ported and i have been looking at popular places like summit jegs ect. and have not found one i truly like except mayby bbk's 80mm. It looks awesome and for a decent price but the gains for the money just not enough. My opinion just get a underdrive pulley for 100 bucks cheaper than an aftermarket tb and if you know of a shop to get the ls6 intake ported along with your tb thats best next to fast 92-102. Best mod i have done so far is definitly texas speed headers and y pipe .

I have gotten mixed reviews with the bbk. It sure does look amazing though.

Can you run it with the stock tb?
