Why do you say Magnaflow is gargabe? Its a very good budget cat-back, I had it on my old car. It's stainless, under $500, fits great, and sounds great even after headers. The only thing I can think of thats bad is that its very quiet at idle, and maybe the tips are a little plain looking.

As MikeWS6 said a cutout is just an extra pipe that sticks out that you can open so the exhaust doesnt go through the muffler. Looks like this (electric cutout pictured):

That's the reason why I'm not a fan of Magnaflow, I would like a nice deep tone while on idle.

****, I don't mind Thats what forums are for anyway. I got some answers and found out some helpful stuff. BTW has anyone replaced the hurst shifter with a shorter throw? Im asking because I recently got to drive a 2006 Z06 for an hour straight (someone over filled the oil and hydrolocked the motor) to clear out the burning oil. No damage was done. But Man the shifter in that bitch was amazing!!! I honestly thought I shifted back into first when going to 3rd. its that close!! I want my Z to be like that.

lots of guys here run short throw shifters. Some popular brands are Pro 5.0 and MGW. I had a pro 5.0 in my old car, and plan to try out the MGW when I buy my new ws6.

cool, I ordered the umi short stick. I have the factory Hurst now and I like the feel of it, just want a shorter throw, I plan on seeing some track time and dont want to miss shifts because its to far to throw it. Thanks. I may try the pro 5.0 if I dont like this set up.

Stuck with an A4 ???
Maybe you should get stuck with a nice Stall Converter, should make you feel better.
Def. can't go wrong with GMMG GluMaker. I think the Borla muffler sounds pretty good for the money too.

Not saying A4's are bad, and to tell you the truth I bet if there was a M6 I think I would've still get this A4. Btw, I hear alot about these converters; what type performance will I notice if I got lets say a 3600 converter? Oh and I'm for sure copping a GMMG when I shop for a catback.

3600 IMO is perfect for a DD. Some guys say go for a 4000 Stall which is doable, but I am happy with my 3600 as I drive my car every day.

To answer your ? Much better performance, does take some getting used to tho. One of the Best Mods, again my opinion, for an A4.

You def want a stall if you are auto. Car will drive much different so it does take some time getting used to, but when I drove a stalled auto I really liked it... not more than a M6 but hell of a lot better than a stock auto. My buddy installed a Yank SS3600 on his DD bolt on car and a 3.42 gear in the back and went from 13.30 to 12.69 w/ DRs without changing anything else. The 12.6 was in bad DA too, im sure he can run better this spring.

Its worth it in the end... my buddy was salty about spending the coin, esp after a new flexplate and all the little things, but hes loving it now.
