Default Headers advice

Im looking at getting some Lts for my 02 z28. It already has slp lm1 exhaust. Just wanting to see some opinions on what the loudest and which headers would flow better with the lm1. Ive been looking at slp lts but they are pretty pricey. I havent heard many fbodys with headers in person just looking to see if i could get some opinions from some other guys on here. Thanks.

I'm at school right now, so can't link to all the threads, but if you use the search you'll find more than you ever want to read. Personally I'll be going with the BBKs after I smog next month. Also, possibly look into swapping out the LM1 with a borla, magnaflow, powerstick, etc unless you want a lot of rasp.

X2 - paceetters if your on a budget, AR/Kooks if you have money to throw around or are doing a bigger build.

IMO headers and LM sucks. You will get your loud but raspy will go along with it. LM sounds great with a stock exhaust but not with ORY and headers IMO..

I just installed the BBK LTs and love them. They are quiet cruising but when you get on it people all over know it. Also, the price is right and the customer service was great (quick response to my email). I'm no mechanic and yet the ease of install and fit was awesome...I havn't dealt with anything else to say they are better but I have nothing bad to say about them.

Ill proly end up getting pacesetters. From what ive read and from everyones opinion they seem to do alright. I dont really care about the rasp it doesnt really bother me and i plan on doing a pretty decent size cam swap in the future.

Ebays are not bad, just picked up a set and waiting to install. Under 200 for stainless is a damn good deal. Just need to have a y custom made with a fm merge and your good to go.

Get good stainless headers.

IMO I wont bother with Pace Setters or China-bay headers. Get a good reptuable company to build your headers. Kooks or to a lesser extent ARH are good choices. I love my Dynatech, easy install, work very well and made good power.

Only thing is on ALL headers with emissions fittings, due to construction techniques, there is a good chance the AIR fittings CAN blow off due to how they are made, just be aware of that.

This happend to me with Hooker Ceramic Coated headers. Air tube was blocked off. Cracked right at the weld. I now have Kooks SS with no emmisions fittings!

Yea, what happens is they drill the hole, insert fitting, weld, and then grind out the inside and makes it VERY thin and once you block off that fitting, its going to POP eventually. My AIR pump has been removed but the fittings are still in place so exhaust has room to escape.
