Stock Standing Mile
I've been searching for hours now.. (I fail at searching I think)...
Does anyone know of a stock LS1 powered F-body/Corvette result from a standing mile event?
I saw that the 5th gen Camaro has done 150.3mph (maybe faster that's just the only result I found)... was curious where the LS1 powered vehicles fell...I could speculate a stock C5 would do 155ish and the Fbody at 145mph but real numbers are what I would like to see.
Anyone?
Thanks!

I believe I read somewhere that the 2002+ z06 did it in 163.3 MPH. I know that's not what you are asking exactly but that might help you. I am curious to find out what the ls1 can do as well.
EDIT: I see 153 on another forum. It was in a ws6. I would think the ram air would slow the car down too.

Is there a site that list all the standing mile locations in the country? I would like to try it without driving out to Texas or further out west.
I was going to guess 150ish before I read the replies.

I would guess mid 140s for a stock LS1 F-body, maybe 5-6 mph more on a Vette due to its different cam?

Yeah, I'm going to go with anywhere from low-high 140's maybe for your average stock F-Body? That's just a wild guess, I would be pretty interested in seeing the results of a stock LS1 car myself. I'd be willing to bet that one would be hold it's own down a 1 mile strech too if it was put up against stock or close to stock EVO's/STi's, Mustang GT's etc., just the other normal street cars that you could compare one with. Would be neat if there was some kind of shootout organized for stock or close to stock cars.

I have always been curious about this question. I've always wanted to know what it could do in the mile and/or how long it actually takes to get to 'top speed'
And the easiest way to find out (whether it's accurate or not) is to do the standing mile on Forza 3
I got 147mph @ 35.333s in a stock 2002 Camaro SS.
Surely it's not too far off the real thing?

I would definately say the C5s advantage would be aeros and weight, i'm certainly not down on power compared to a C5.

Hey SOMbitch, so Maxton requires you to have a rollbar? Me and my buddies were wanting to go down there for the October run. But if they have a rollbar rule - thats out of the question....

Yeah it is $100 to join ECTA last I looked and $20 to get a set of rules. Your car has to pass inspection and then you you qualify at graduated speeds until you hit unlimited IIRC. Without a rollbar I think you are allowed 135mph. They are pretty strict and you get one warning before they kick you off the trackfrom what I have seen.....

cost
The cost to get on the waiting list is $260a (nonrefundable) and it would cost me about $100 in fuel. I am close to houston so it is about 160 miles. The event is october 21-23. Soon after that I will start tuning and doing free and cheap mods. I have HP tuners and I am chomping at the bit but still have some learning to do.

I recall reading an article (*shootout) one time and a stock ws6 attained a few clicks over 150mph in the standing mile. It lost out compared to some of the other cars they ran, however the competition was stiff in this shootout iirc. Wish I could remember which article that was in now
