Which water pump for my LS1?
I have a Turnkey LS1 in my rock crawler/racer/trail buggy. I've had a recent string of overheating issues and I'm looking to replace my water pump. According to Turnkey, a 2000 Camero SS is what I should use for part lookup.
This is the pump on the buggy now. Note the steam port and the temp sender.
This is the pump that I purchased for a 2000 SS.
This is the water pump on my buddies 6.0 from an Escalade.
Does anyone know what pump to look for that is going to have the threaded ports on it?

looks like you will need to remove the two heater bungs and tap the holes to fit your .steam tube and your temp sensor and you might have to get some reducers. just use the fittings off you old water pump dont forget teflon tape on the threads.

just throwing this out there check steam tube for clog? or from the look of your picture kink in hose?t-stat function? in the old days we would use a water thermometer and a sauce pan on the stove an drop t -stat in water and watch what temp it opens up. worth a shot.

The back story is this.....
It's been fine for over a year. Two races ago it started getting hot. I figured that it was hot, clogged with mud, and the alt was reading low so the fans weren't going well. Changed alt, bat, flushed coolant, cleaned rad. Next race, it gets hot again. Same thing. It couldn't keep up at 3500 but would cool down fast at idle. Cleaned rad, swapped kinked hose, checked therm(there wasn't one in there but it used to cool just fine), ran radiator pressure check, checked oil for coolant, checked coolant for oil, checked coolant for exhaust gases. Still doing the same thing.
