noob question with catch can
So i've seen the diagrams that one of the members drew up for all the possible combinations but I still don't trust myself with not messing it up.
I have an ls6 intake with a stock ported throttle body. And im assuming the stock ls1 valley cover? Where exactly am i going to run my hoses? :x
Its a billet catch can pictures of connections would be prime, thanks

anybody? the install tells me to run a hose from the top of can to the passenger side valley cover. and another from the side to the pcv valve.
but the diagrams online: https://ls1tech.com/forums/11059703-post70.html
are showing the 2 lines going to the pcv and to the intake, nothing to the valley cover
im confused.

Only LS6 valley covers have a line going to them because of the built in PCV valve.

How do i know if I have the ls1 valley cover, its a 2000 and I just put an ls6 intake on.
Also in those 2 diagrams, does the ls1 valley cover determine if the pcv is external or coming out of the intake?
I really don't wanna route these lines wrong

If you haven't installed the new valley cover, then you have the stock ls1 valley cover.
Yes, the valley cover determines if you run a external pcv valve or not.
I used 405HP Z06's diagram when I installed my dual catch can. Seems to be working great for me and is definitely catching oil.

Okay, so with my stock ls1 valley cover, I have an external PCV valve, so according to his diagrams for a single can. The 2 red lines are what I connect and thats it?
PS. how did you block off the port on the back of the passenger side valve cover?

I ran a new hose from the drivers side rear port to the catch can and then to the intake port. All the old pcv stuff on my car is gone but i did reuse the factory pcv valve holder.

alright, so yo usaid you ran a new hose all the way from the rear port, did you just push the pcv valve into the new hose? Im assuming its got male connections that push right in? I haven't taken anything apart yet to look

pcv placement with catch can
I did a Home depot Husky mod, I put my pcv valve after the catch can thinkin that would make it (the valve) last longer. Actually the thing that prompted this mod was oil dripping out of that stupid strap thing on the pcv.none since doin it my way...is there any reason to put the pcv valve before the catch can on a ls1 system (dirty loop) as shown in the diagram?
