Default What can get me in 12's...

hvent taken it to a track or put it on a dyno....but im wondering....what woudl it take me to get into 12's...high twelves....at 12.9 like all day...or lower...but as long as id be under 12.9

i would get a higher stall torque converter...but i dont kno how they are on the everyday driving....say parking lots...back roads....etc. alot of stop and go traffic where i live...and i wanna keep similar gas mileage...but ok what would i need more then my mods already...

TC 3500 at least, headers, 3:73's and once in the 12's you will want N2O to get to the 11's

just spray what you got, that's your 12's.

my mpg is 9-12mpg is 99% city driving. i think i got 70 miles to 1/2 tank this week using a tci ssf3500 and having my lockup at 1000rpm in 3/4th roughly. (speed limit is 30-35 with radar).

only those who do consistent locked up speeds will get good mileage, the rest of the 3500+ stall folks must drive highway alot. lol

A convertor and nittos would do it easily, that or some longtube header.. Chances are you probably run right around 12.9-13.1 as it if your car is strong.

First thing I did was to do all the "free mods". Then I installed shorty headers
and off road pipe. With the 3:23's stock t/c and bald F1's I've gone a best
of 12.84 @ 109.6 and ran several more 80's to back it up. So as you can see
12's are very obtainable IMO will little modifications. I've just installed a 2800
stall speed and will use DR's in the next week to see if I can improve my best to date. Next month my shaved 6.0 heads will go on and in goes the TR224 cam. Once the parts go on and tuning is done I'm hopefull for 11's.
Good luck with your mods. Larry

He would only buy a mustang if they were slower than camaros...which is currently not the issue...so...Mustangs are slow... and they suck..

mustangs suck (not all especially if modded nicely) i blew past a supercharged mustang just 2 weeks ago....he was runnin on im not sure how much psi he said...i think he has it between 6-8....im not sure...he had some pretty worn drag radials...but yeah..my Eagle F1's hooked and hooked hard...it waas only a matter of seconds to fly passed his sh*t talkin a**...

i admit there are strong mustangs ive seen and heard...or read bout...for instance... UNIT's mustang...that thing sounds like a badass ride i wish i could see how it would do...but yes my famikly is strictly GM buddy so i would never buy a stang

LS1's are much stronger...and ive seen SEVERAL stock SS's keep up nicely wiht some stock cobras...but yes...the cobra takes the cake on stock...with the right driver...but asi stated i would not get a mustang so dont recomend it...

and anyways....my insurance woulda beenn higher if i got a mustang,....i looked into it

There seems to be some confusion here. There are many stock LS1's that run in the 12's. I have seen people who do it right. A stock car, M6, cool weather and some Nitto DR's will get you into the 12's. 12's are not hard to do in an LS1. Easily can run mid 11's on a stock LS1 with nothing more than a 150hp hit of N20 and lid.

I was friends with someone who had a BONE stock LT1 with a full tire on back, M6 and a 150hp hit car went 11.97. I can't remember what the MPH was though because it was like 5YRS ago.

Get some traction, drive correctly and ad some bolt-ons. I know a little easier said then done.

oh i think my car now can hit 12.85-12.9 ive ran my car outside of a track and it ran a few different ones....1st run was 13.1 or 2....and my 2nd and 3rd i hooked harder i hit 12.96 @107 or 108 i forget the time was right
it was a 1/4 mile....
good reaction....and a really nice flat street....many people liked to race on it...they resurfaced it and i was one of the firtst to test it out when it was completely finished and errything...so i thjink i do it 12's already...i was just wondering what would do me a bit better
