Default 1999 camaro ss

I just purchased a 1999 camaro ss i just wanted to know how i can tell if it has any slp modifications or if they come with factory headers

Send an email to SLP with your VIN. They responded to me within 24 hours.

The Y2Y RPO code in the door jam is a good indicator that you have the extra goodies, but checking with SLP will be more specific.

Go to the Special Vehicles section and contact Dave Hamburger w/ SLP he will let u no if u give him your Vin # and no Car came w/ factory headers.

No such thing as factory headers for an LS1 F-body.

Edelbrock Heat treated LS1 shorty headers i have an opportunity to but these headers at a great price and i was wondering would it increase horsepower or would it just give the car and better sound would i have to modify the exaust at all or could i just have the headers installed? thanks guys

check your passenger door for SLP options and dont bother with shorty headers.

Shorty headers would be a definite upgrade over stock manifolds and might work if you are going to have emissions issues with LT's. But, from a performance perspective LT's are way better in just about every way.
