Default i need another .7-.9 of a second

Ok I need some advice, I have a 2001 SS m6, stock rear with 3.42 gears, SLP long tube headers with catted y-pipe, TR 224-112 cam, 160 thermo, fan switch, throttle body bypass, loudmouth exhaust, hotchkis lid, k&n filter ngk tr-55 plugs, subframe connectors and a strut tower brace. I am only running 12.7 seconds at 114-115 in the quarter. I've already been tuned. I need help to go much faster, what else can I do.

Sounds like traction issues or clutch. What are your 60's? Tires?

A better 60' ft. will help a lot. Maybe even take that .7-.9 sec. your looking for off.

Might be time for a huffer of one type or other. Turbo in the best way to go. Time to visit the bank for that one.

no I'm going for NA, next big mod will be a rear, then heads, but I want to 11's first.
I know I have to learn to shift, this the first time driving this car with all the mods stated above. All the work was done in my garage over the winter. My best time from last season when car was stock was 12.875 at 114.95 mph. It just aggrevates me that all this time money and effort was only good .1 of a second, I need to relearn how to drive the car again. I was just expecting a little better.

Practice your driving skills, it's the best mod you can do really. I went to the strip in January and ran a best of 12.8 @ 113.x with a 2.0 60'. I went back a couple of weeks ago, and ran a 12.4 @ 112.x (didn't print a 60') with nothing changed to the car. All I did was practice my shifting and launching. Spend some quality time with her and you won't be dissapointed.

Just floor it and leave it down there shift it quickly... practice that though. Pretty embarrassing to miss a gear.

Hate saying it, but it's definately your driving skills man. Get some LCA's and relocation brackets, and get your 60' down to a 1.8... then all you have to do is shift faster and you 'can' have low 11's. Of course, a launch like that will definately require a rear.

So yeah, work on the "great-driver mod" first

Ummm, what?? That mph is rediculous for a stock car. Are you sure that is correct?

I'm sorry, my PREVIOUS best mph was 113.65, the 114.95 was one of the speeds I went on Sunday. I know the car traps high, so far my best trap is 116.xx my slips are at work so I can't give the exact number right now. This is the issue I've been dealing with since I bought the car, high traps and times that don't match-up.

There's no way in hell you ran 113+ in a stock car. That thing had a cam in it before you bought it!

the guys trapping 115 and you tell him to add a power adder? sure he'll trap 130 but click off another 12 lol. All he needs is to learn how/when to shift and he should be fine otherwise check that clutch...that mph is enough to get you into the 11's pretty easily.
