Default Headlight gear repair. Somethings wrong!!!

Im replacing the gear in my headlights because they were making that awful grinding noise. I disconnected the battery, raised with the ****. Took off the whole headlight assemble so i would have more room. Took the arm off. Removed the 3 bolts holding the motor. Took the old gear out and put the new brass gear in. The same setup as the old. New rubber grommet. Greased up and everything. Glued back on. Put motor back in. Put headlight assembly back on. Put as i move the manual **** clockwise to go down, nothing happend and the arm wasnt moving anymore. Did i put the motor back together wrong or something? Any ideas?

I did put the steel "T" between the motor and frame when bolting it back on. Could that be the problem?

Just make sure it looks identical to the other side. Can you take a pic of how you put this back together?

Honestly I don't think its worth it to go to all the trouble of replacing just the gear. I just went to Autozone and picked up a new motor for like 30 bucks and put it in. May not be the highest quality parts but it has a lifetime warranty so if it goes out again its a free replacement and only takes 20 min to swap anyway.

Yeah, I'm going to be "that guy" and bump out this ancient thread, but where in the actual hell did you get a headlight motor for 30 bucks? Even the reman of the **** brand is 60 at AutoZone...but if you have a source, please share!

it might be that the gear or something is not inserted properly and might be getting stuck not allowing for the gear to turn. that happened to me when i replaced mine. i would take it apart again and double check that everything is correctly installed and make sure you test and play with it to make sure its right when you install it because its a bitch dealing with such a confined space ..hopefully this helps because i really think that something is not put in right and is causing a jam
