Default head selection help

Alright guys, i am building a lq4 6.0 stock bottom end, carbed top end. Its going in an 87 s10 street/strip. My question is should i buy gm stock l92 heads with valve spring upgrade or spend a little more money and get the tsp 5.3 cnc 2.5 heads?

Stock L92 heads are better by a wide margin. The big thing is they are very finicky about cam choice so contact Pat G on here or call Geoff at EPS or Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction and get a custon speced. Best $25 you'll ever spend.

Agreed 100%, the L92 heads are great, they just are very picky to which cam they like to perform with.

I plan on buying the offset intake rockers and new stand. I want to stay with gm stock type rockers and i also am tossing between the gmpp l92 single plane and the l92 vic jr.

The l92's are cheap and perform just as well as some heads that cost hundreds if not a grand more...in stock form. There is plenty of room to grow with them.

But like mentioned, they are picky about cams.

The only downfall I can see is you are going to want an aftermarket piston with valve reliefs. The 2.16 intake valve does not leave room for much of a cam.
