Default What would be a better intake?

I have a 2001 camaro with an ls6 intake. Should I keep that and go with the SLP lid or get a cold/ram air intake?

Keep the LS6 intake until you are making more power. Just get a lid imo.

What do you mean by more power? Like over 400 horse?

im plannin on 750-800rwhp soon and my ls6 will be on there. its one of the more badass parts that came with the car stock. not necessarily the best intake of all time, but pricewise it is not a bad choice or place to start. if you decide to upgrade later on they can bring 350-450 easy especially if they are painted well like mine.

Just go with the LID, I have that on my SS, price wise its hard to beat. And it kinda protects it from the engine bay heat and brings in only the cool outside the car air. Get the SLP pro pack, its a little more then the standard LID, youll like the difference.

By more power I don't necessarily mean an exact number but general mods. With heads and cam and/or supercharger, turbo, nitrous, stroker, etc a FAST intake will provide more gains over the LS6 but if you don't plan on doing that stuff or not anytime soon keep the LS6

Sounds like I'm going with the lid and possibly the pro pack. I'll have to look into that to see what it is

Its actually called the "SLP Flowpac"... comes with the Smooth Bellow, Lid, K&N air filter, and a cold air panel for more flow under the box.... its 297 bucks with free shipping from ws6store. Its nice because it gives you everything.
