Default Can't decide what path to take... Nitrous or Stall/Cam.. Your input please.

My motor has 115k miles and runs great... It's an a4.. I'm on a budget. I wanna go spray but I don't want the extreme engine wear that comes with spray.. What bugs me is the power isn't there 24/7.. I could go Stall/Cam.. I Don't wanna grenade my tranny after about a month of driving.. How much wear does a cam give on the motor vs. spray?

What path would you go? or what path have you gone?

Your transmission would be a concern either way you decide to go. But, I would say that a stall/cam with a good trans cooler is the least likely out of the two to cause any catastrophic damage. However, both setups have been proven time and time again to be quite good with the proper tune. What are your goals for the car?

i got a built tranny and stall so i can cam the car soon. i personally would rather have a cam over n2o because like you said the power isnt always there with spray but eventually the car will have both. if you were on a tight budget just go with a huge tranny cooler and nitrous and make sure the tune is spot on and you will be good with a 150 shot all day.

i would go cam and stall, with spray you will need a good fuel system. theres more hidden costs with a n20 build

Thanks.. I can't let my **** head neighbor's 03 mustang be the king of my block.. My goal is about 400rwhp... He is full bolt on 3.90 gears and a vortech charger w/8psi.. Hoping a 3600 stall with a nice size cam will make me faster then him... When I do cam should I pull the heads and put new oem springs and valves in?

The springs depends on the cam you go with. But I would suggest getting better springs.

Just take your time and save your money up and get all the parts required. I would go cam, valvesprings, etc. Then a good stall and beef up the trans but first of all I would do suspension if you hadn't already subframe connectors, LCA, etc.
