Well do you want best or cheap? Those two dont really go together. What kind of setup are you running as far as headers and alll or is your exhaust stock and you just want to slap a muffler on it? Either way go with a mgnaflow race series. Good sound and great flow

Go magnaflow, ive heard dynamax and personally dont like it. Go ahead and do a good magnaflow race series now because if you cheap out now youre gonna end up having to do another muffler when you do your exhaust and cost yourself more money in the long run. The magnaflow will flow good with stock exhaust and flow even better when you do a full exhaust and will sound good too. Like i said good and cheap dont play nice together and generally cheap ends up costing you more money down the road

Yes, the Ultra Flo is similar to Magnaflow in construction and sound. I have put dynomax on my 78 408 Camaro and my Ex-GF's 96 Chevy 1500 they sounded great on both.

On a 4th Gen:
17227 for 3" Inlet and 2.5" Duals or
17536 for 3" Inlet and 3" Duals.

The Magnaflow 12267 is also 3" Inlet and 2.5" Duals and 5$ Cheaper at Jegs FYI

Another thing to point out is that the Magnaflow is slightly smaller in size compared to the Dynomax, but either one will sound great. It's a V8, you can't go wrong.

Either a Magnaflow#12267($105 summit), or Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded #17227($108 summit), both are stainless steel.

#17227 is $86.56 shipped
#12267 is $100.28 shipped

Both on Amazon.

Magnaflow is aftermarket. You can get a Flowmaster 80 series muffler for around $100.

i hated my magnaflow... it was weak and puny sounding and resembled a pissed off mosquito a WOT. Im not much of a fan of the moroso spiral flow either.. i had one laying around so i used it since its all i had. look into the classic chambered mufflers and the sweet thunder mufflers.. they sound deep at idle and scream at WOT.

SO mufflers to avoid

Magnaflow
Choke-Master (flowmaster)
moroso spiral flow

You can get a Thrush welded muffler for like $40. They are copies of a Flowmaster 40 series.

I don't know, mine doesn't sound weak and puny at all. Maybe if you try putting one it on a engine that's not weak and puny you won't have that problem. So everybody should avoid putting the Magnaflow on a weak and puny engine, like TyCZ28 did.
