I think the lq4/9 block will suit your needs easier than the ls1.Both can give you the power you want for sure..there are pros and cons to each.I feel the ls1 cons taking it that high n/a arent worth it.The lq blocks even as a 402 are very strong..tq comes on earlier and lasts longs in the band. You can build this over time..get the block and stroke it out. Then slowly swap out parts on the topend as you can afford them...nothing but gains this way..plus you get more used to the car as its power grows so will you.I dont recommend building this all one shot if you never had a car with over 400whp as raw as a built motor lol.Sometimes its best o earn your stripes..wanting a dyno queen car and being able to dive said car are are extremely different things!

yeah you make a very good point. Ill just stoke it and use all the parts i have now and slowly build it so i can get used to it and not eventually wrap myself around a poll lol. Thanks for all the info you have been very helpful.

No problem, just trying to give you options without breaking the bank.Start off with the lq4 and swap all the ls1 stuff onto it.Then get full exhaust...decent cam,ls6 intake and you are already close to 400whp.Thats where Im at right now...next for me is 243 heads and might go bigger of a cam.Great daily driver...still get good gas mileage till i romp on it lol.Im still highly thinking of just adding boost to the motor as it sits now would be an easy jump in power for a few extra bucks.
