Ls6 springs cam
#2
Stock or LS6 is about the only way I would recommend you go. If your wanting to step up to something more aggressive an aftermarket set of springs and chromoly pushrods will be needed as well.

Give eveyone a rundown on what vehicle its going into along with what other mods you currently have on the vehicle. It will help everyone give you a better recommendation for what will get you the best results.

If you don't want to upgrade the valve springs to anything better and you are just after a nasty mean lope then the hotcam would probably be your best bet. Although I would at least upgrade to hardened pushrods and do the trunion upgrade. I would also recommend a ported LS6 oil pump and LS2 timing chain.
I recently put the hotcam in my car but the only reason I went with one so mild is that I managed to score the cam, LS6 springs, spring seats, locks, crank bolt, water pump seals, valve cover seals, crank seal and timing cover gasket all for $125 from a friend. I also upgraded the pushrods, oil pump, trunion rockers, UD pulley and changed head gaskets while I was in there.
It might not add nearly as much power as a nicer cam but it sure does sound nice. Here is a vid of the first start of mine.
