Default LS6 intake manifold questions

1) Are they worth it? i own a 2000 z28 with the stock ls1 manifold.

2) Where should I buy one? ebay?

3) How much should I be paying for an LS6 manifold?

Yes they are worth it.

Check the classifieds here, craigslist or ebay after verifying the part number.

$300-325 is the going rate, I see some for $350, but patience can pay off.

They are a good performance gain over the 1997-2000 LS1 intake. They're worth $350 shipped in very good condition, IMO.

From what I've seen is only buy them used, don't buy them new because there are some bigger intake manifolds that are cheaper then them new.

In my opinion they are worth buying because of thousands of dyno tests. They have proven gains. What I don't understand is, every other performance upgrade out there is worth about 50% of original cost. These damn things are bringing almost new price. I have 3 of them and I paid $250 for one, $200 for another, and the last one was free. Before I pay $350 for a used one I would buy an after market aluminum intake. I have read many places that the heat soke b.s. is just that. The throttle body size difference, in my opinion should be able to counter any loss there. Be patient and they will become fairly priced again.

It's basically a direct swap. BUT, while you're in the general area, you might as well PnP your stock TB or send yours off as a core and buy one already PnP'd if you can't do it yourself. It's another worthwhile mod, especially at less than $100.

Don't bother yourself with a LS6 or PnP'd TB if you plan on going H/C/I anytime soon.

SLP Used to sell these p/p stock TB's back in the day. Was a great piece for the money. I think it was $150 or $170. Had the SLP Stamp on the TB. I wish I saved more of my old parts.. :-\

How does the ls6 manifold compare to ls2? I am doing a manifold swap from LQ9.
