Need HELP!!! Fuel Tank Capacity 02 SS Camaro
I recently bought an 02 SS Camaro and when i tried to fill up the gas tank it would only let me pump 12 gallons. First time i only let it get little below 1/4 and the second time i waited until the check gauges light came on..In the user manual it says it has a capacity of 16.8 gallons..has anyone had this issue before?

Would you happen to know how many gallons would be left ones it hits E?
The second time i ran it all the way to E which cause the check gauges light to come on, and that time the car was full with only 12 gallons.. i didn’t want to try to add more because I’ve heard that over filling them is bad. Thanks for replying

Did you use the same pump/same gas station for both fill-ups?
There should be some difference in the amount of fuel that the tank will take at 1/4 vs. at E. At 1/4 tank, somewhere around 12 gallons sounds about right. At E, it should be more like ~14 gallons or so. But it also depends on how long the tank had been at either reading (perhaps when it was at 1/4, it had been there for a while and was just about ready to drop further, and perhaps when it got to E you happened to fill it up right away?)
I'm not sure this is anything to worry about though.
