Too much oil?
Took oil and filter to the quick change place the otherday since I don't have ramps and it was pretty crappy weather out. Anyways I took 6qts and they used it all, I knew the guys up there and he checked it and said it needed the full 6, is it too much? On the dipstick its above the fill line, should I drain some?
What would a extra 1/2 hurt? Thanks

i think these engines can safely take up to a quart extra. i wouldn't bother with it. i run 6 quarts and a bigger filter, and mine is slightly above the dipstick reading it *should* be at. not a big deal

Patman,
I had looked for it at the Azone before, but I just looked in the front and the back. The front was yellow label, and the back was red but USA.
I know the guy working there and he said they would have more in the morning, I'm going back to see, then stock up.
While I'm on the subject is the M1-107 worth the silver? Or should I go for the K&N?
I should be ok for 100+ temps this summer with the 0w30 right?

I wouldn't recommend the M1 oil filter, especially not the smaller stock sized one, as it's going to restrict your oil flow a lot more than something like the K&N or STP or Supertech. Go for the longer filters as they flow even more than the stock sizes.

Will the length affect ground clearance? I dont want to knock it off. I have to drive over lots of huge speedbumps and large dips in the road around here.
14u2nv, you can find it at Autozone, just pull nearly every quart out of the bin and im sure you will find it. I'd stock up on it at the time too, seems to be a nice choice of oil, as Patman says and several people on bobistheoilguy forums...

I used nothing but the long oil filters when I had my LS1 Formula and it was lowered with Eibachs too, and the filter never got hit. The oil pan shields 95% of the filter anyhow.
