Solid Motor Mount Questions

The only major disadvantage is you will fell every vibration in the car, personally I run poly mounts, I still get more vibration that stock but its no where near as much as a solid mount.

No advantage really, just never have to worry about them wearing out. My car had some worn out stock mounts, I went with the Spohn tubular solids. If you do solid motor mounts you can't run a solid transmission mount. You have to run a poly one.
Some people on here cry and will try and tell you that it makes every vibration outrageous and all that. Those guys are either wussy or think their 10 year old f-body should ride like a BMW.
I'll put it like this, I like my car to feel like a muscle street/strip car. It does shake a bit but I also like my dumped bullets and no HVAC. IF this is how you like your car... go for it.
To me I wouldn't have it any other way.
PS. The Spohn mounts will raise your motor a bit, however you loose those heavy *** iron pedestals and if your crazy (like me) and are going to do the swap with the motor in the car its a bit easier than switching to solid clam shells.

Anything other then stock is a pain in the butt to line up. I've run them all, including NOS stockers, worn out stockers, polys, and solids. I'm currently back to polys, and that's my vote.

Rubber, if you want to try and cut down some of the vibration transfer you can just use a new factory one. Mine was pretty much torn and I could tell because when I smashed the throttle real hard my shifter would raise in my hand.
If you get the energy suspension one, they are actually "adjustable" a little bit. You can put the plate on the bottom to make it as firm as possible (what I did), leave it off, or some people have even took a bench grinder and ground down the nubs on the bottom to reduce felt vibrations.
All options to consider. But I will say the vibrating was worse in the beginning, the polyurethane does soften a hair over time when you put some miles on it.

i e had factory mounts, then polys and now im solids after turbo engine swap in i personnaly like the solids and dont have any more vibs then i did with polys, car feels as good and i did it for the be efit of the engine not moving at all so my turbo pipes didnt hit anything, if this is a DD (which my car is also DD) and your not putting alot of power down, 450rwhpnornless id just do polys u less u want solids, but honestly cant tell much if a differnce, cars alittle more touchy with clutch and take offs but

It's not a DD, it's a Cars and Coffee, WW, Grocery Getter and not on pump gas either.
I don't care about rattles or smoothness in the ride. Like mentioned before, if I wanted a smooth ride, I'd buy a BMW.

you sound like how i feel, i like the comfortable but "race car" feel lol
get solids and enjoy them!
for all thats done on my car for a DD, the last thing id complain about is the solid mounts, worst thing is my stock blown out rear shocks with 1.5in lowering springs i still havnt replaced XD

The only disadvantages i have run into with my solids is that it was a pain in te dick to remove the trans.
Other then that I love how they feel and I have less vibration then the shitty stock ones that were in there.
