?s for convertible owners
my 99 z has been leakin like a biotch lately, not at first in the rain, but after 5 mins or so it starts comin in by the spots the weatherstripping comes together above the windows, at the top/back of the windows (used to but not lately) and i've noticed some drips right by the front of the door by where the side mirrors are at. and just recently i put my top down and up once by undoing the switch in the trunk for the hydraulic pump, and i don't know if it's because of that or not, but there seems to be more of a gap between the 2 weatherstrip pieces that come together by the top/middle of the doors??? the top closes regularly but it almost looks like the rubber slid back 1/3"?? also, i haven't inspected anyone else's 'vert rear window, but is the outside bottom piece of cloth supposed to be attached to the glass or not? mine's not but it looks like it might have been at one point? maybe? and all the top/side piece is supposed to be loose too right? if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it a ton! thanks in advance everyone!

my rear window is like yours BUT some pics I took at G8 indicate that it is not supposed to sag like that. i will look into how to tighten that up or maybe reapply some adhesive. Can't help ya with the leaking as I am not driving mine yet so i haven't gotten to put it in the rain Are you sure you are fastening it down all the way? There are holes in the front above the visors that the alignment pins on the top slide into when you put the top down. You can latch the top without the pins going in and it will leave a tiny gap. I did that for a few times before I figured it out. Just an idea

Weatherstripping is going to take a set. Not
much you can do about that, other than to
grease it up with silicone (distributor / spark
plug) grease from new, to try and slow it down.
I have a 20-year-old convertible too; it's to
the point of chunks crumbling off. Welcome to
the downside of addiction
Have seen numerous people beef about the
rear window glass coming unglued. The best
bet there is the polyurethane windshield
adhesive that the glass shops use for their
installs. Black, and pretty nearly "forever".
Any auto glass shop front desk should sell
you a tube, which will be way more than you
need for spot repairs, turn solid before the
next time you use it, and mostly get thrown
out. But it's like 5 bucks, or was last time I
bought any.
