SLP Air lid not sealing 100%
Edit: That was supposed to be a %, not a $....
Pulled the air lid and noticed a good amount of dirt on the upper side of my K&N filter today. Looked around and noticed that the rear portion of the SLP lid I have isn't fully clamping down on the filter.
I'd heard of some people using weatherstripping or silicon to help the lid seal. Any write-ups or advice on this? I'd assume to use some RTV clear or black on the sealing edge of the lid, let it fully cure and then reinstall the lid.

Go by lowes, home depot, walmart, etc... and grab some weather stripping. I bought mine a little wider than what came with it and lined it all the way across the back of my lid. You can keep locking your lid down and looking behind it so you can place it exactly where it needs to be.
Don't be afraid of how it may look, no one is going to see it anyways. Just make sure that none of it will get sucked up and lay across your maf sensor. Once you have it placed good, it'll form perfect to it and it stays in place anytime you take it off for filter changes.

I don't recall any of the lids I've bought new (including SLP) ever coming with a weather strip. Then again, I haven't bought one in probably 9 years so perhaps things have changed. On the other hand, the K&N filters for these cars used to come with such an item, not sure if they still do as I haven't bought one of those in at least 15 years.
