Default issue with SLP airbox

anyone that has an SLP airbox have any issues with it not sealing correctly? I did a test fit without the air filter, looked and fit great, put the air filter on, having issues getting it to close.

In my experience, this is usually the result of not getting the air lid pushed all the way onto the MAF end, and/or the use of an aftermarket air bellow (either or both causing the lid to sit just a bit too far forward.)

Also, make sure it's fitting as an under-bite, not an over bite (I have to remember this every single time I re-click it.)

Could be warped because it wasn't installed inproperly and was left like that for a long time. Or could be everything between the lid and throttle body is not lined up properly.

I have one on my car, and with the aftermarket 'plumbing' rubber boots between the throttle body and MAF sensor and from the MAF to the SLP top, it was at a pretty good angle on the rubber boots. They were scrunched up on the top of the TB and front of the MAF so a little trimming and it allowed me to push the SLP top all the way back into the locking tabs and close the lid down tight.

^ This is a common complaint with these lids. You just have to work them a little harder than others, it seems, to get them snug. I have had two and they ended up fitting fine.

I just picked up a clear air lid and also a Blackwing Air lid and im curious to see what kind of fitment I will get out of them myself. I have had probably 6 or 7 different SLP lids and only two were ever an issue as far as fitment

I've got the slp lid and smooth bellows. I found It was important to push everything in together as tight as possible so that the lid would move back far enough to align properly.

A little bit of playing around to get it but no problem since.
