Thumbs up looking to make 450rwhp 99 SS

Good evening everyone I just bought a 99 SS that is 100% stock. Im new to the LS engine family coming from an all Ford backround. I found a pair of 241 heads off an 01 TA and I plan to have them ported for better flowing capabilities. what combos are proven to make great power NA as far as intake throttle body cam headers and off road mid pipe. does the stock fuel system have enough in it to hold this power? and if not what injectors and fuel pump would you recommend ? ill be doing most of the work myself so any tips of any issues would be much appreciated .

You might wanna talk to some of the vendors on here. 450 rwhp with 241 heads may be a bit of a stretch

I've heard about 243 or aftermarket like trick flow. so you're saying the 241 are not a great head for my goals? I will look to the vendors as you suggested . anyone you recommend?

im also open to taking my existing motor out and installing a chevy performance crate motor in it as well. the 376 all forged low compression I would consider being that its built for boost and I can install a single turbo in it down the road. or I even like the 502 they have but that might be to much of a pain in the *** to install lol. I belong to a group that races sort of like the street outlaws but at the track. it has to be a real street car full interior full weight etc etc . 13's just isn't gonna cut it in this group lol.

Well I'm saying you may or may not make that power with the 241 heads, but you may wanna ask the experts to be sure. Off the top of my head I know Texas Speed and Thompson Motorsports have great prices. No need for a true aftermarket casting to reach that number, but a 243 head will make getting to that 450 goal a whole lot easier

Texas speed and WS6 store are both good vendors. You will need bigger injectors, 42lb give you some room. Stock fuel pump should be fine but a lot of guys change them with H/C. Whatever headers you buy go with 1 7/8".

automotive stealth pump a good choice? I was underneath the car today installing a magna flow cat back and man the mid pipe looks real restrictive . I like the kooks and American racing brand.

Trick flow 220s, fast 92, 98mm lid, z06 maf kit, fast42lb inj, our high lift asa cam and youre over 450 by my estimates. All parts are readily available and bolt right on. Easy. No bs.

Total cost would be somewhere around 3800 for everything including gaskets, bolts, pushrods, timing set, oil pump.

Racetronix 255 is the better drop in fuel pump option. its $220 with hotwire harness and install kit.

let me tell you. I also have an 03 Cobra built really good. what a difference price wise when it comes to the LS motor. I'm very impressed with it. do you sell all these parts ? again ill be doing all of this myself and I assume with your statement of easy no. BS that its pretty much a straight forward job. ill post pics as the build starts.

I think its attainable w/ the right cam, AI 241's and of course a 6spd. I was at 420 and still climbing in an auto and the tuner cut it short because he didn't want to lock out my single disc converter. As you can see my cam profile is also pretty mild. I was going to drop the extra coin for the 243's but the shop that did the work said the HC 241's were very close in numbers.
