If you're looking for a clean looking engine bay, then go for it. But I'd suggest putting the $50 towards something else.

About Vr. I also have it and I have to say that I did notice a difference in throttle response. others would probably so nay but for $50 its a good cheap mod unless your thinking of porting throttle body.
And just for FYI, the it is a little bothersome fitting the vr with a fernco but with trial and error youll get it.
I have had it for about 2 months and I check induction at least every week because of taking off filter and recharging it and freeing debris from it but it still hasn't melted. and I am in 100 degree weather daily

An air bellow will help a little, not that you could measure it probably. I would go with the airflow model, which cost $15 and doesn't require heating like the fernco. Whether $50 for the SLP is worth it is a judgement call, but I would say that $15 for the airflow is definately worth it.
As for the velocity stack, stay away from that thing. It makes the air flow faster, but why? It is because it has to flow through a smaller hole. Grab a throttle body off of a Camry, and that will increase your velocity too. Velocity doesn't mean crap, what you want is flow. Also, I think it covers up your EGR hose as well, which will cause small problems.
