Default gas milage

Ive got an 00' z28 m6 40000 miles and i am only averaging 16-18 miles per gallon and 75% of my driving is freeway 75-80 mph is this normal or not. If its not i think my car is running rich, if it is running rich how do i fix it thnx

hell no thats not normal with an M6 FAR FORM NORMAL I GET 25 at that sopeed with a A4 god damn what you got in there? and what gear you cruisiong round on

im completly stock accept for flow master muffler and k&n air filter and i typically **** around 2500-3000 rpm

ah that 2500-3000 rpm might be doing it there for ya...what gear you in while cruising?

i cruise in 5th at 35 and i manage to get around 22-24 mixed. 1-3-5 is probably the best bet.

i didnt kno you could skip gears in the M6....at 75-80 id say get her in 6th gear if you can....main reason its the like 2nd overdrive....stock you can prolly pull off likew 30 mpg if not more

Get it into 6th asap, I usually put it there at 50-55mph and try to keep it under 80mph.

Yeah you can skip gears, remember CAGS? I usually do 1-2-4 around town

drivign around town and doing a hand full of races i get around 25 by driving 60 everywere i go. but im completely stock.

im a stock a4,and on my last trip to D/FW keeping it AROUND 70 i averaged 27.not sure what city would be,havent checked.

I average around 20mpg. Lots of heavy acceleration and racing.

17-20 in the city and 23-25/26 on the highway cruising around 75...

This on a stock 98 TA A4... not sure what the Lid and GMMG did ..

my 01 gets hella r0x gas mileage on the highway..27-28..gets less when im having fun in the cities

LMAO, sorry, I just found your misspelling funny. Anyway, sounds like something is not right, I recently was on a 1800 mile trip and got 31 mpg in a stock 01' M6.

I must have a heavy foot. I average 21mpg. 16mpg was my lowest ever, highest was 25mpg on my only ever out of state highway trip in the car. During the summer I think I have dropped to 19. Slightly modded a4 btw.

i averge 13 in town and any where from 27 to 31 on long trips just made a 1300 mile trip to missouri and got 31 on 2 fill ups this is with heads and cam and full bolt ons

I must have one helluva heavy foot. I can't hardly get more than 280 miles a tank. I don't even think I've hit 300 before cept on longer trips. So I average something like what?!? 17 MPG? Even taking in consideration that it's mostly city driving, it sounds like my numbers are way off compared to everyone elses.
