amen. Also I appreciate the support i recieved from you guys. We LS1 owners stick together quite well.

another funny thing:

I had a few import owning dorm buddies in my car tonight. It was the first time either of them had experienced the thrill of 140mph+

By 140..you really meant 110. None of their cars can get past that

The fastest I have ever gone is 140 mph , and that was with nothing but loudmouth.
Fastest with passengers was ~135, a few times, but the tops were off and the widnows were down and it was a fairly narrow country road with corn on eitehr side so it felt pretty damn fast

Maybe I'll do another high speed run when I finally get a cam in the spring and pick up some top end

Edit: I only went 140 because I basically let off as soon as it shifted into fourth gear. Also, at about that time, I passed a car (one lane in between us, on interstate) and re-thought what the hell I was doing when I realized how friggin fast I flew by them.

The fastest ive gotten up to was like 132 that was with the tops off and windows down as well. I dont exactly have the best tires so i pussed out of going much faster. I hope to top it out once i have my mods and tires next month.

Has anyone topped theirs out yet? I've gotten it up to 152 but just dont have enough "safe" road to push it to the max. Wasnt sure if there is a governor at 160 or what the actual top end is. At 140+, it's called "aiming", not steering. =)

Same thing with me, I've gone up to 152 in the freeway, I let off the gas when I started seeing cars in front of me and to think, a customer service employee at Firstone, told me the Camaro wouldn't go faster then 120mph, he must be an import car owner. My Camaro felt really good too, the windows were shaking a bit -windows rolled up-, but I felt in control of the car, all the way.

There is a guy here with a car specifically built to high speeds with an LS1. He was able to do 200+.

I am almost positive that they have a governor at 162 mph. (unless you get one without Z rated tires and got the 110 mph speed/governor)

When I had mine, also took it to 140 on my way to Moroso in West Palm. That was because I was racing a mustang and managed to pull away at that point. That's what I get for trying to race a stick with an auto. Damn I really wished I had my convertor installed then. Also had a passenger with me in the car who also happened to be a mustang fan. He just kept yellin "he can't pass you, he can't pass you" Pretty funny stuff.

Just remember that if you catch a mildly modded 99+, or a stock 03/04 Cobra.......you will find yourself in trouble in a hurry.

Speaking of beating a mustang in a stock auto.....one of my street runs was vs a 99 Cobra 5 speed (claimed stock) when all I had was free ram air and loudmouth. I won, of course, but it was pretty close. I had maybe one car on him from 0-135. It was definately fun though I am 5-0 vs Mustangs.....havn't found one of the fast ones just yet......only a matter of time

yeah, 03/04 cobras are a no go with me. *** handed to me, enough said. but ive raced a few 97-99 cobras that seemed to be modded pretty well and i got the edge on them.
