werent the 99s over rated and kinda slow? isnt that why(ive heard this said) they didnt make a cobra in 2000? i dunno, im not trying to make myself out to be a "stocker" assassin, im sure the day will come, probably a few times, that one of these guys blows me off the road.

Yes, the 99's were overrated. They recalled them and there is a "fix" that I do believe puts them back where they should be and where the 01 Cobra is.

Yea, I have more respect for the mustangs now after being owned by a 95 conv. 5.0 GT. when we pulled up to the light he yelled over to me that he had an auto so i thought this is going to be easy, wrong- he beat me by like 2 length then let off around 100. he was cool and pulled back around to talk. he had some new crate motor, big cam, cobra intake, stall, 4.10 gears, headers, full exhaust, and 315DR's on the back. he told me he let off early do to his gears. I didnt feel so bad after knowing he was modded pretty good and i was stock, W/just a lid. With all the stuff he had done i thought he should have beat me better, oh well.

He had a crate motor and still only beat you by that much. Man, ford's crate motors must really blow.

that guy was pretty cool but you are giving him too much credit. you have NO tread and you spun through 1st and most of second. if you had tires i think you would have taken him. that guy had an *** load of mods, hooked up well, and didnt beat you that bad. it makes me wonder about 90s mustangs.

Thats what he said.

He told me he had just bought the car off EBAY and built it up. he said i was his first race since he had put in the new motor & broke it in. He was a real nice guy, just moved to town a couple of weeks ago after retiring from the Navy.

ive beaten a slightly modded 2000 gt. cold air, and a bunch of suspension stuff. he ran a 14.3, i ran a 13.7. When we raced on the way back from the track, i did about the same, but after 110mph I pulled on him hard

god, I love the drop into high 2nd, then 3rd pulls real strong all the way to 135ish, and then 4th pulls somewhat softer all the way to 150ish. I LOVE THE LS1!!

If it was legal, i think i would marry my car. If i ever get married, there's gonna be a pre-nup saying i get to keep my car!

^ First thing I'm doing with my fiance (when I get one), is signing a prenup. Girls and people ask "Well if you trust eachother you shouldn't have to sign one."

Well ya know what?? A prenup is insurance. Sure everything seems perfect at first, and may stay that way... but JUST incase somethin' does go wrong, she doesn't get to **** you over royally in the end by taking every single thing you worked your *** off for.

You might be healthy, but would you wanna go around without health insurance?? HEEEELL NO! So just think of a prenup as that little bit of insurance that might save you later on if and when she tries to screw you over.

hey its just been an all around good thread!

the prenup thing is kinda hard to explain. its basically a contract you make your spouse sign that keeps them from taking you to the cleaners if you get divorced. it limits/restricts/designates things that they can or cannot have if you split.
