Question about a purchase...
My friend is looking at a 30th anniversary TA with 48K on it, borla exhaust, t-tops, automatic, white leather and everything (loaded). The dealer is selling it for just under 18K. I told him since it is in almost perfect condition to go for it. What are your opinions? TIA!

i would try and talk them down some, look it up on the blue book as well. Also, look it over carefully and make sure everything is ok.
I would say to ask who the original owner was, but i think we all know the answer to that, it may go something like this "an older gentleman who was a mechanic or in the military who kept it in the garage. He probably had to trade it off to get a truck or a larger family car"... lol
good luck and it is a rare car
also, I am probably wrong, but i thought that the 35th anniversay TA's was in 02, making the 30th in 97 (i know the camaro's are like that and i was pretty sure it was the same for the TA's, but as i stated i am probably wrong)

If he plans on keeping it stock and for a long time then it might be worth it. But if he is going to modify it then I wouldn't buy it. I agree with mzbz_ls1............white leather gets really dirty!

The first Firebird was in 1967, but the first Trans Am was in 1969. It was named after the Trans Am racing series. Therefore 1999 is the 30th aniversary of the Trans Am, although it is the 32nd Aniversary of the Firebird. Also, the yellow 2002 Trans Am is the "Collector's Edition" because its only the 33th Aniversary of the Trans Am, but 2002 is the 35th Aniversary of the Firebird.
I hope that clears things up.
