Default finally a decent track time!

I just thought that you guys should know that I finally got a decent track time!!! The last time I ran it, I only put down a 14.0 in decent weather, but I was a dumb *** and I was running 87 octance, so Im sure that the timing was retarded by the computer.
This time I did it right! I put 91 (I know 93 is preferrable, but I dont have access to it here.) and I ran a best of two runs at 13.77 at 101.3. I had a 2.085 60' and a 8.8 1/8th mile. I thought is was a very strong run for a stock 98 A4! The only modification I have is a whisper lid, so I doubt that made a huge difference. The humidity was only 25% which I thought was really good!!
Just thought I would let ya'all know!

13.7? Hogwash! That's NOTHING a non-turbo DSM (Talon specifically) can't handle...

That mph seems really low - even for an auto. Maybe it's time for a tune up.

Congrats on the improvement, you are right in line with what I was running a couple of months ago. I was running 13.70's @ 101.5-102mph with 2.03-2.08 60ft times, I had 2.73s and a yank stealth 2600 conv though. Now I have put in 3.42s and ran a new best Friday night 13.509@102.97 w/ 2.021 60ft. The freak cool front helped with temps in the 70s and 55-60% humidity. I did cut a 1.993 60ft on my last run 13.545@102.16 but had installed the HPP3 power programming to see the diff and had some detonation in 2nd & 3rd gear so Im sure the computer pulled some timing , should have been in the 13.40s. My car is also a 98 Z28 A4 w/ 114,000 miles mods are MTI clear lid, Yank stealth 2600 conv, 3.42 gears. I just think most 98s dont mph as high as the newer cars and are generally 2-3 tenths slower? Good luck and get you a converter , I like mine, but wish I would have gone bigger! Next mod is install my QTP LTs & ORY.

^ Both of your guys' speeds are really low, even with decent times.

I dont know why my top speed is as low as it is, but maybe it has somethin to do with my 3.23's? Even so, I completely believe that with some decent tires I could run somewhere around a 13.4 or a 13.5! Im hoping to find a decent deal on some BF GOODWRENCH KD's or KDW's. That should get my times down!

Next step, long tubes, Ory, and catback!
