Default My Dash Cracked!

How can this happen? It goes from the defrost vent under the windshield and goes left a bit to the plastic part above/around the gauges. How much is it to fix/replace this?

Did that on my old T/A. No clue as to how it happened. My only bet would be bad a new dash. Maybe someone can chime in with a better option though.

I got a passenger side crack myself. I got it replaced under warranty, so can't tell you the cost. I don't think it was too bad though.

You always need to make sure that you keep the dash, or other plastics that are always exposed to the sun very moist. Meaning "armour-all" it. I would do this everytime you wash your car or once every 2 weeks.
The sun is killer on plastic

dont use actual amour-all though...if you ever quit using it, itll dry out the dash muuuch quicker and youll have more problems than you did before you used it

My 98 Z28 just did the same thing last week in this hot Texas heat. I work at a paint & body shop and called our chevy dealer. The piece cost about $123.00 and according to our parts book it has to be painted to match, which means it probably comes black.

Mine is all cracked to hell as well, I'm just waiting til this fall/winter to replace it. Not real excited about spending any amount of time in the heat replacing that part. Should be able to find it off a wrecked car tho. However, that peice should not be painted to match, these plastic peices were molded in their respective colors, were they not?
